The Art Of Letting Go
“If you love her, let her go”.
First time reading that phrase, I thought it was crazy. It’s like almost impossible to do when you’re in love. But in fact, as you grow older, you know that in this life, there is love that meant to be let go of.
We know that breakups can be tough. We often hold on to the hope or possibility that we might get back together with the person that we love, though the road is leading to nowhere. We simply, deeply, in love with them that we ignore the signs that tell us to let them go. But love is blind, right?
They say it would be easier to let them go if you end up in no contact with them. Just go on with life in separate ways. It’s a goodbye for good.
But what if we are still in contact with them? How can we get over them when they are still around? It’s hard, right?
The truth is, when you love someone so deeply, being still in contact with them or not, the feelings just don’t go away. They stay with you for the rest of your lives. You might buried it deep inside your heart, you met someone new, moved on, but the feelings are still going to be there. Because your love was true, it was pure.
So, there’s no formula to get over your feelings. Every body get they heart broken in different ways, but time will always heal. It doesn’t erase the mark, but it makes you to have peace with the situation.
And the art of letting go is, I think when you accept the fact that you can’t be with them anymore, and that’s okay. Because the peace that comes out after that realization, is a real relief.
Isn’t it beautiful? That we have a love for someone, something that is so holy, pure and genuine, but at the same time we also have the capability to let them go? For the sake of their happiness, for the sake of them — and maybe for us too.
